Simple Tricks for Lasting Fat Loss

date: 2017-03-09

There’s a reason you rarely hear people talking about easy weight loss tips.

Sure, you can pick up on the latest fads, and follow exercise or diet advice for a few weeks and lose a few pounds. But, those don’t always work. And, when they do, they become increasingly more difficult to follow as you try to balance your work and social life with ridiculous dietary restrictions and workout schedules.

But, I’m here to tell you there is hope. You can lose weight and finally have the body of your dreams.

And you can do it quickly, easily, and without following ridiculous diet and exercise plans.

Because, what you may not know is that there are small changes you can make that will help make losing weight even easier.

Easy Weight Loss Tips for Lasting Results

So, if you are looking to really change your health, or if you just need to drop the few pounds you put on during the holidays, check out these 5 easy weight loss tips.

 1.  Control Your Hunger with This Drink?

You may have heard that drinking water helps you lose weight, but do you understand why? It’s actually good for easy weight loss on several levels. Most obviously, it helps fill you up. If you drink an 8 ounce glass of water before a meal, you won’t eat as much, or as quickly. Not only do you eat less, but your body has time to register that you’re full, so you come away more satisfied.

There’s even some very preliminary research that indicates drinking cold water might even boost your metabolism by about 30% in both women and men.

But that’s not the only way water helps you lose weight easily. Your body can actually register thirst as hunger…

Hunger and thirst are controlled by the same part of your brain – and it sends out the same signals to let you know it needs something. It’s up to you to figure out if what your body needs is food – or water.

Quick Tip: When you first start thinking that you’re hungry, have water instead then wait 15 minutes. If you really were hungry, you’ll still be hungry. But if you were thirsty, you’ll be satisfied and not need to eat anything right then. All without consuming a single calorie.

2.  Losing Weight Could Be as Easy as Counting

Walking, jogging, swimming, aerobics, they’re all great workouts to help you lose weight. But an even easier weight loss tip is to increase the number of steps you take in a day.

Count every step on your jog, or your walk. Every step in your Zumba class counts, too. But then, add more. Park farther away from the store. Take the stairs, at least going down, if not going up. Walk the dog (even if you don’t have a dog, you could go on a walk with your wife, husband, neighbor, or friend).

Quick Tip: Invest in a pedometer – a counter that tracks every step you take – and pay attention to how many steps you take in an average day. Then, every week, add another 500 steps per day until you get to 10,000 steps per day. That’s approximately 5 miles or 75 minutes of walking. If you cut back your calorie intake just a little on top of those 10,000 steps per day, you’ll be amazed at how easy weight loss can be!

3.  Easier Weight Loss by Eating Whatever You Want?

You don’t have to give up your favorite foods. In fact, doing so can make weight loss harder because you feel deprived.

To keep weight loss easy, start adding vegetables to your favorite foods. Load your pizza up with peppers, tomatoes, mushrooms, onions, even artichoke hearts or broccoli. Whatever vegetable you like. Do the same with stews and sauces. Start each meal with a salad and make sure to include a vegetable side dish.

You get all the flavors you love, but you’ll be fuller on less because you’ve bulked up with vegetables. Plus, you’ll be healthier, too, thanks to all the vitamins and antioxidants in those veggies you’ve added!

Quick Tip: You’ve heard it before, but it actually works! Replacing your salty snacks with veggies like carrots or broccoli can have a huge impact on your ability to lose weight. You’ll satisfy your hunger and your craving for something crunchy, without the unnecessary calories (and they might even give you more energy).
4.  The 1 Time You Really Should Stop Eating

Some people say don’t eat after 6:30 pm. Some people say the magic cut-off is 9:00 pm. Whichever time you choose isn’t actually as important as making sure you stop eating after dinner.

No more late-night, after dinner snacking means no more late-night, after dinner calories. While this may not feel like an easy weight loss tip at first, many people discover they eat after dinner out of habit, and boredom, rather than actual hunger.

Quick Tip: Break the habit by finding something interesting to do – that doesn’t involve eating – and not eating after dinner becomes easy. It could be as simple as finding a new show to invest yourself in, or getting into a new book. As long as your mind is occupied, you’ll keep your mind off food.
